The SocialScrape MCP server is a Python package, socialscrape-mcp. Your MCP client starts it on your own machine, and it calls the SocialScrape API with your key. SocialScrape does not run a hosted MCP server, so there is no MCP URL to point a client at. A client that can only connect to a URL cannot use it.
Setup for each client is in the MCP guide. An agent can also call the REST API directly.
The server gives an agent the same API, with the same key and the same credits. Failures and cached repeats are free. It offers tools such as get_transcript, search, get_profile, get_post, get_comments, describe, call_endpoint, batch, get_job, monitors and get_credits, plus one tool per platform. Only built endpoints appear. describe is free and does not call the API.
An agent that runs out of credits gets 402 insufficient_credits. How an agent can pay is in credits and pricing.
