How it works

1

Paste a link

A post or video link.

2

Get the file

The media link comes back with the post.

3

Download it

Save the video or the images, or request them from the API.

Why use this tool

Free, no account

Paste a link and get the file. No signup and nothing to install.

The file itself

The media link is the one the post already exposes.

Video or imagesA video comes back as a file. A photo post comes back as images.
Time limitedThe file link expires. Look the post up again for a fresh one.
Same result from the APIOne request returns the same media link as JSON.
Failures cost nothingOn the API, failed requests and cached repeats are free.

Where a download helps

Save a video

Keep a copy of a post you can already watch.

Edit from the file

Download the video and open it in an editor.

Archive a post

Store the file before the link expires.

Pull it from code

The same media link is one API request.

Questions

Does it work for stories?

No. Stories are not available. Posts, reels and IGTV links work.

What about carousels?

You get the main media of the post. The API's post endpoint lists every item of a carousel.

Is this tool free?

Yes. No account and no card. Each visitor gets a limited number of lookups an hour, so it stays free for everyone.

How do I get this data in my own app?

Send GET /v1/instagram/post with your key in the x-api-key header. A request costs 1 credit. A repeat of something fetched recently costs 0 credits, and failed requests are free. See the reference.
