Questions

How does the summary know what the video says?

It is written from the video's captions and nothing else. Each key point keeps its time, and the full transcript sits under the summary, so you can check any point.

Can the summary be wrong?

Yes. AI can miss or misread something, and captions can have errors of their own. Check the transcript before you rely on a point.

How long can the video be?

Long videos work. On a very long one the summary may cover only the first part, and the result says where it stops.

Is this tool free?

Yes. No account and no card. Each visitor gets a limited number of lookups an hour, so it stays free for everyone.

How do I get this data in my own app?

Send GET /v1/youtube/video/transcript with your key in the x-api-key header. A request costs 1 credit for captions; AI transcription 1 up to 2 minutes, then 5 per started minute of the whole video. A repeat of something fetched recently costs 0 credits, and failed requests are free. See the reference.
